Kaleidoscope – Minutes of Committee Meeting held on June 20th 2019
Present: Helen Klich, Anne Mapley, Josie Wilson, Ann Smedley, Catherine Docherty Yvonne Ward, Rupert Feld Apologies: Chris Dixon
Please let Ann Smedley know if you are unable to attend a rehearsal so that we can decide if there are enough attendees to be worth holding one.
The Committee have been pleased to hear from members that they are enjoying rehearsals. When sections are going over a part other members are now being respectful, supportive and quiet. It was felt this is helping us to learn pieces more quickly.
We will continue to work on ‘A Million Dreams’ and ‘Jesu Joy’, both of which Rupert may include on July 13th.
Rupert will review our list of music and look at ‘Cape Breton Lullaby’ and ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’. He is also going to look at some new Christmas music
- Myeloma UK – June 15th
Yvonne will total up the profit we have made for Myeloma UK and we agreed we would pay this as soon as possible to the charity.
Any raffle prizes left over will be used in other events this year. Thank you to those who donated.
Rupert re-iterated his pride in our performance and felt it went very well.
- Alrewas Methodist Church – July 13th
Rehearsal at the church 7.45 pm on July 10th. Please note that as we are singing fewer numbers than last week we may finish early at this rehearsal
Please hold on to your folders if you are taking part in this concert
Please let Ann Smedley know if you are attending this concert or not
Anne will transport Kaleidoscope piano etc. to both rehearsal and concert. Rupert will bring his own.
Rupert will compere the evening
Arrival time on July 13th for the choir to be no later than 6.40 pm so that warm-up can be 6.45.
Anne to check who puts out chairs for the choir and if the church has volunteers who can take money at the door. Yvonne to provide a float for the door
Anne to invite Mr & Mrs Colman.
Uniform will be black with turquoise. Again, no patterns please, just block colours
Catherine has agreed to put together a press release and arrange for inclusion in the Mercury, Herald and Burton Mail
Tickets are now available – see Catherine
- Rupert has confirmed his availability on 28th September. Josie and Anne to meet with the Burton Breast Cancer Support Group and liaise with St Michael’s Church about responsibilities etc.
- We will plan to hold a ‘Friends and Family’ evening during our last rehearsal of the year, but would still be interested in performing at a concert with Christmas music
A photographer will be with us on June 26th and will take photos inside and outside, both staged and informally as we sing. Please wear uniform for this rehearsal.
At the moment there are no plans for a summer break, apart from a possible rehearsal in early September. However, we will continue to review this, so keep an eye on your emails and the yellow notices
